The existing control relating to establishing and using an accurate and consistent time source for event logging was amended to remove the emphasis on establishing a time source, thereby allowing for any trusted time source to be used as long as it is accurate and consistently used.

Miscellaneous changes were made to rationale and recommendations throughout the publication to clarify content without changing intent. This included a review from the Guidelines for System Hardening chapter through to the Guidelines for Data Transfers chapter.
